Rho Nu Meeting Minutes
September 24, 2007
I. Called to Order at 3:08 by Ruth
II. IceBreaker: One Up/One Down about the weekend
III. Debrief about the ICN Trip
- trip was helpful and worth the drive
- wrote down pros and cons of trip
- Got to see new nursing building
- Got to see the life of a nursing student
- Aubri took notes about trip for those who couldn't come. Copies are available in the office and/or through Aubri
IV. Guest Speaker Erin from Inland North West Blood Center
- WSU won large mobile blood drive with 430 units
- 200 people goal for WSU blood drive on October 9th
- 60% of people are eligible to donate but only 4% do
- Four parts to giving blood: Checking in, Screening, Donation 5 to 8 minutes and snacks at the canteen
- Need to bring photo identification and eat/ hydrate well when you come to donate
- Volunteers are needed to help with WSU blood drive and the mobile blood center needs volunteers all year.
V. Follow-up on T-shirts (Gina)
VI. Dues
- $5 per person/semester.
- it'll help pay for events throughout the school year
VII. ROTC Nursing
- Help pay for college and books
- Scholarships available for nursing students
- 4 years on active duty, 4 years reserved

August 27, 2007
I. Meeting was called to order by Ruth @ 2:00 PM.
II. New Business
A. New Officers
1. President: Ruth Gerola

B. Nomination/Election
1. Available positions: Speaker Coordinator and Vice President
2. Candidates must attend WSU-Pullman throughout the school year (1st & 2nd Semester)
C. Palouse Mobile Blood Drive
1. Inland Northwest Blood Center is having Blood Drives in the Palouse area throughout the month.
2. Volunteers are needed.
3. Applications will be available for pick-up during the blood drive @ the Bookie on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 between 10-3 PM & in the office thereafter.
D. On Campus Blood Drive
1. Date: October 9, 2007 from 10AM-5PM
2. Location: Beasley Coliseum
E. Volunteer Work
1. Please let us know any new ideas for volunteer work.
2. It would be nice to do @ least 1 every month.
3. Pullman Regional Hospital Volunteer Orientation
a. Must attend orientation to be able to volunteer this semester.
b. Date: September 5, 2007 from 3:30-5:30 PM.
c. Location: Pullman Regional Hospital Conference Rms. A & B

F. Meeting Time

G. Club T-Shirt
1. Submit designs and think of a slogan by next week Tuesday, Sept. 4th.
2. T-shirt colors choices: white or crimson.
H. ICN Spokane Trip
1. To get a feel/view of the ICN facilities in Spokane.
2. It might be on a Saturday some time in September.

- Talked about her career as a nurse and how nursing has allowed her to expand into other careers
- OB nurse
- Talked about her experiences at ICN as a student and a faculty member
- Going to be very busy
- Have clinical, paper and exams for grades
- Be honest when going on interview
III. Club Social

a. Date: December 1, 2007 6 or 7 PM for two hours
b. $6 a person, includes two hours of bowling and shoes
c. 6 people per lane
d. May be taking group picture with club shirt
