RHO NU Constitution

Article 1
Name
This organization shall be known as Rho Nu. The name of our organization was adopted from the Greek names for the letters RN, which are, in turn, the symbol for the registered nurse.
Article 2
Purpose
The purpose of the organization shall be:
A. To promote a spirit of friendliness and unity between advisor and students.
B. To assist socially and scholastically.
C. To explore the areas of interest within nursing and related fields.
Article 3
Membership
Section 1 The WSU Rho Nu Club is open to all currently enrolled WSU students, regardless of race; sex; age; creed; national or ethnic origin; physical, mental or sensory disability; marital status; sexual orientation; and status as a Vietnam-era or disabled veteran.
Section 2 The dues of the organization shall be $5.00 per semester. This amount shall be subject to change by majority vote.
Section 3 Dues are to be paid by the second meeting of each semester, or immediately after joining.
Article 4
Officers
Section 1 The officers, who make up the Executive board of the organization, shall have the duties:
President
Section 2 It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all regular meetings and to enforce all laws and regulations relating to the administration of the organization, and to appoint any chairman or committees which he/she may deem necessary.
Vice President
Section 3 In the absence of the president, the vice president shall have all the duties and powers of the president. The vice president shall assist and work with the president at all times.
Secretary
Section 4 The secretary shall keep a register of the minutes of all meetings that occur, pick up the clubs mail in the Activities Center, and be in charge of club correspondence.
Speaker Coordinator
Section 5 The speaker coordinator shall be in charge of finding and corresponding with speakers for meetings along with public relations.
Treasurer
Section6 All money payable to the organization shall be paid to the treasurer. The treasurer will also be responsible for managing all funds for the organization.
Executive Board
Section 7 It shall be the duty of the Executive Board to take the initiative in determining the policies of the organization. They have the power to vote in new laws due to poor membership turnout. The Executive Board shall be responsible for the proper management and government of the organization.
Article 5
Voting, Elections, and Nominations
Section 1 The members shall elect the officers the prior semester if possible.
Section 2 In addition to the ballot presented, nominations may be made from the floor by any member of the organization.
Section 3 The candidate for office must have a majority vote to be elected.
Section 4 Revision of this constitution and/or any addition of amendments will be voted on by a ¾ majority. The president will vote only in the case of a tie vote.
Article 6
Club organization
Section 1 The regular meeting will be held once or twice each month. The schedule for these meeting shall be planned the prior semester.
Section 2 In addition to the ballot presented, nominations may be made from the floor by any member of the organization.
Section 3 The advisor of the nursing program will be the advisor of the club.
Section 4 The balance of the clubs FS&A account will never be overdrawn. If the club should disband and abandon the FS&A account for more than a year, any excess funds will be deposited in the account of the previous years Organizational Report Form. If no fund is indicated, any excess funds will be deposited in the Student Activities Board Account 6680-7890
