Lecture: Monday January 14 at Noon, CADD 21 - Battling Biases and Barriers: Necessary Steps our Academic Institutions Must Take to Assure a Strong Science and Engineering Workforce, Dr. Geri Richmond. Geri was a member of the Committee on Maximizing the Potential of Women in Academic Science and Engineering, National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, and Institute of Medicine, which recently issued a report with the same above title.

GWIS Presents: Luncheon Discussion with Dr. Geri Richmond. Dr. Richmond will join members of GWIS and community on Tuesday, January 15th from 12:00 - 1:30 in LIGHTY 405 for an informal luncheon discussion about her multiple roles as a scientist and advocate for gender equity in science and engineering. Lunches will be provided, but you must RSVP to Jean to attend by JANUARY 11TH.

Women in Neuroscience (WIN) Career Night! Please join us if you would like to share your experiences, interests, and love of science with high school girls currently participating in the WIN program, jointly sponsored by GWIS and the Palouse Discovery Science Center. ALL DISCIPLINES are welcome to attend! We also encourage undergraduates in neuroscience, psychology or related brain sciences to attend and share their experiences. FREE FOOD will be provided for all participants!

May business meeting. All Psi Chapter members and any interested persons are welcome to attend this open meeting where we'll be announcing the new 2008-2009 Executive Commitee, planning for the next academic year and perhaps an end of the year celebration event! Join us!
May16th: PDSC 6-8:30 pm
Women in Neuroscience (WIN) Celebrate the Completion of the 1st Program! Please join us if you have participated in one or more WIN events and would like to help celebrate a successful collaboration between GWIS, Palouse Discovery Science Center, and local high schools! ALL SCIENCE DISCIPLINES are welcome to attend! We also encourage undergraduates in neuroscience, psychology or related brain sciences to attend. Snacks will be provided for all participants!

Conference Theme: Health of the planet and how changes in the environment can and often affect the health of other living things, including humans.
Note: Travel day Wednesday, June 25, 2008 thus allowing Thursday for some committee and National Council discussions as needed.
